Common Reasons for Visa Rejection
Kenya eTA rejections are almost always preventable — know what to prepare
A valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for Kenya entry. Arriving without it results in denial of boarding or entry — regardless of your eTA status.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure from Kenya. Damaged pages or insufficient blank pages are also grounds for rejection.
Hotel or safari lodge booking confirmations for every night of your stay are required. Lodge-and-camp itineraries must include full confirmation documents.
Safari travel is expensive. Bank statements showing low balances relative to your trip cost raise concerns. Show funds covering lodges, park fees and daily expenses.
Any previous overstay, deportation or visa denial in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda or other East African countries significantly increases rejection risk.
