Your UAE tourist visa validity begins on the date it is issued — not from your arrival date. If your 30-day visa is issued on 1 June, you must enter the UAE before 30 June. Plan your travel window carefully to avoid a lapsed visa at the airport.
UAE tourist visas can be extended once for 30 additional days through the GDRFA online portal or service centre inside the UAE. Apply before the original visa expires — overstaying without extension incurs a fine of AED 50 per day.
A UAE e-visa is accepted at all international airports (Dubai DXB, Abu Dhabi AUH, Sharjah SHJ) and designated land and sea border crossings. No separate entry visa is needed for different Emirates.
Indian passport holders with Israeli entry or exit stamps are not affected. UAE normalised relations with Israel in 2020 — prior Israel travel does not impact UAE visa eligibility for Indian applicants.
Common Reasons for Visa Rejection
UAE visa rejections are easy to avoid when you know what the ICP system flags
UAE Immigration requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended travel dates. Torn pages, unofficial repairs, or a full stamp page are also grounds for rejection.
Applicants with a prior criminal record — including arrests, convictions, or pending cases — face near-certain rejection. UAE Immigration conducts background checks via Interpol and bilateral agreements; even offences considered minor in India can be disqualifying.
UAE visa applications require a wet or digital signature that matches the passport exactly. Applicants from certain Indian states must additionally provide a regional authority attestation. A mismatched, missing, or unrecognised signature format triggers an outright rejection by the ICP portal.
A previous UAE overstay (fined or otherwise), deportation, blacklisting, or prior visa refusal significantly reduces approval probability. Disclose all prior UAE travel history accurately — the ICP system flags inconsistencies.
Applicants who use a single legal name (mononym) — or whose father also has a single name — frequently face ICP system rejections because name fields are validated against a standard two-part format.
UAE Immigration may reject an application if the stated purpose of visit is inconsistent with the applicant's profile — e.g., a tourist visa applied for during an unusual season, mismatched hotel bookings, or a travel history that raises suspicion of seeking unlawful employment.
